TENSION

A multidisciplinary artist working with digital media, sculpture, ceramics and installation, KAYA explores concepts of beauty, ephemerality and popular culture. Often deploying the framework of a vignette in her installation practice, KAYA references the 'memento mori, causing viewers to reflect on what is obvious and what lies beneath or behind the surface.
Imbued with dark reality, these at once soft and pleasing colours and objects are juxtaposed with disturbing iterations of the human form. Posing questions of the value and purpose of beauty as well of its very nature, KAYA will test recent works in Room 2 of Gallery Sunari from 3-12 May.
